Before photography a couple years ago, I was sent to Franklin, TN for my day job to further my training in the Jewelry World, where I met Drew – the teaching assistant to Blaine Lewis at The New Approach School for Jewelers; a little while later, I then met Drew’s high school sweetheart, Presley. After only speaking with her for a few moments, I felt as if I had known her for years. Drew and Presley welcomed both me and my mom to their house for brunch before Franklin’s infamous Pumpkin Fest – both Drew and Presley’s parents treated us as if we were a part of their family, talking recipes, family, life and enjoying some amazing food!
Presley and Drew both are actually from Indiana. Between College and Jobs, each withstood the ultimate test of the long distance relationship. We all know how hard it is being away from our loved ones, but Drew and Presley have proven that true love conquers all!
I remember when Drew was designing this AMAZING ring for Presley. Each time he would make progress, he would get so excited, lighting up every time he’d talk about “his girl’s ring”, showing us each little detail. Drew created Presley’s ring from scratch in something called “CAD Design”, a program similar to Photoshop or what people use to design houses. Drew worked out all the details and how he wanted the ring the love of his life was going to wear for eternity. Once the ring was was casted, it was sent to a friend of Drew’s where it was hand engraved! Then, Drew finished the final touches himself. To top it off, Drew also designed a beautiful black opal ring for Presley’s gift on their wedding day.
Every single detail of Presley & Drew’s day was carefully thought out by Miss Presley. Her gorgeous bouquet… she did herself!! The decorations were a mix of what Grace Valley Farms supplies and some of their own. Between the perfect mixes and the families’ keen eye on style and decor, this day was perfection.
The wedding itself was just a couple hours from Nashville in Shelbyville, TN at Grace Valley Farm. The property was gorgeous and featured a Bunk House, a beautiful Manor, two different reception halls and a stunning tree lined area where Presley & Drew exchanged their vowels. Everything about this day was absolutely stunning. And an added bonus, I got to experience the day with a close photographer friend, Chelsey Rocha with Rocha & Co. Photo, who I admire so much and who helped me capture these stunning photos. The ring shots by the way.. oh my goodness, I am in total awe of how whimsical she made them look!
As a photographer, you become so close to your brides! In the beginning, I had only met Presley on one occasion.. from our talks of wedding details and our exchanges of pictures of our sweet little fur babies, I have gained another great friend! Presley is such a sweet soul and I am so honored that she asked me to be a part of her day!
Love everything about this wedding, but that dress is AMAZING! Gorgeous work, Kara!
