Reagan and Brendan are married! They had a gorgeous classic Charleston wedding day at the Cedar Room. From the start, Reagan and Brendan knew they’d want an indoor ceremony and some place to accommodate all of their loved ones. Cedar Room turned out to be the perfect option and a beautiful choice for their wedding day!
Reagan and Brendan actually met because of Reagan’s job! She’s a flight attendant and was traveling for work when she noticed Brendan. Immediately, she knew she’d want to talk to him but wasn’t sure she’d make it before he de-boarded. Of course, she didn’t make it! As she finished her work and headed to catch an Uber, she turned the corner and almost ran into Brendan. He’d been waiting to speak with the girl he locked eyes with mid-flight. To honor their sweet love story, they actually used #loveatfirstflight for their wedding hashtag! How fun is that little detail!?Â
After realizing that Reagan was it for him, Brendan began to plan an incredible proposal that honored people and memories that Reagan loved. Her grandmother was a talented painter but one of the paintings that Reagan loved most was lost after her death. On a trip to her hometown, Reagan with Brendan, she went to introduce Brendan to her grandmother’s best friend, Margie. Margie invited them in and hanging right in the foyer was her grandmother’s lost painting. Shocked, Reagan turned to tell Brendan when she saw that he was down on one knee. He had managed to track down the painting and plan the proposal. It was incredible – and she obviously said yes! Reagan and Brendan began planning their dream wedding in Charleston, all focused on their venue: The Cedar Room.
Reagan and Brendan are such a down to earth couple. They love each other so much – and they love those around them even more. It was an honor to be a part of a celebration so full of love. When I began talking with Reagan and Brendan, we discussed how important photos were to them. They’re a chance to document the memories of such a special day for years to come. But, also discussed how important it was that portrait time didn’t overshadow the chance they had to be with their family and friends. Because of that, we decided to plan a first look. After Reagan finished prepping with her girls at Lashes and Lace– and I finished photographing her classic wedding details – we met Brendan for their first look on St. Michael’s Alley: one of my favorite Charleston spots!
Their first look was SO joyful. Just look at Reagan’s reaction! She was thrilled to see Brendan and he’s just smitten with her – they are seriously so sweet together. One of the reasons I love first looks is because of those tender moments. In Reagan and Brendan’s case, their first look also worked out since it rained later on in the day. After Reagan and Brendan had time together, we focused on portraits with their wedding party so that we could beat the humidity of the day as well as the impending rain that we were graced with shortly after. By the way, I absolutely loved the emerald green dresses she chose for her bridesmaids!
Reagan and Brendan chose the Cedar Room because wanted a space that had the ceremony indoors. I think they absolutely made the right call with this venue. The Cedar Room is one of my personal favorites because it has the most beautiful indoor space with HUGE windows that allow natural light to fill the room even if it is dark and cloudy! Reagan and Brendan chose to bring in a circular arbor with various shades of pink, peach & cream florals along with tall floating white candle accents for their ceremony decor. It was absolutely beautiful!!
After their ceremony, the space was flipped for their reception. The Cedar Room has their own caterers, bar service, and cake – which means parties here are a breeze! Reagan and Brendan continued the colorful roses into their reception – including an amazing hanging floral installation over their tables. The decor was seriously gorgeous! Reagan and Brendan partied the night away with their loved ones, enjoying their photo booth and a sparkler exit to end the evening. Congratulations again, Reagan and Brendan! I hope you have a life full of adventures together!
