Sunday’s winter engagement session was so magical yet so COLD, 27 degrees cold! But, it was perfect. A little snow blankets the ground adding a little glitter to each portrait. Although the location is gorgeous on its own, the snow was the icing on the cake!
Back Story: I met this awesome couple at a wedding this past summer where Steve was a groomsman. This same wedding was one of our favorites of 2019: we couldn’t stop talking about Tiernie & Allen’s day and how awesome the wedding party was! Photographing large wedding parties can be a little difficult so getting to photograph this group was so ahhmazing!
Emily & Steve have the sweetest little fur family. They are Puppy grandparents to the same KBP Couple’s fur baby mentioned above and just became doggy parents again to a spunky little Corgi..who got to play in the snow for the first time at our session on Sunday – she loved it!
The proposal story: Steve got Emily one of those books that you can personalize.. and although Emily loved the sweet sentiment, she loved it even more when she reached the very last page where Steve had inserted, “Will You Marry Me”? He did so perfect because Emily was not expecting it at all. She knew they were going to spend their lives together, but Steve wanted to keep the surprise of WHEN that would happen. What a special way to propose because you have a physical memento to share with your loved ones as you look back on such a wonderful day!
While looking at these pictures, you would never guess just how cold it was but as I mentioned earlier, Babcock State Park was a whopping 27 degrees. It was beautiful and this couple were such troopers. Not going to lie, I would’ve been a big baby had I not had on snow pants and gloves.
Thank you Emily & Steve for not only braving the cold but traveling 2.5 hours to meet us on your Sunday! We cannot wait to celebrate the two of you this June!
Wedding Day Details: Emily just said yes to the dress on Saturday at The Vow Boutique in Morgantown, WV and the couple will be getting married at a brand new venue in Shinnston, West Virginia called “Almost Heaven Barn”.
