Briar Patch Farm Wedding | Barboursville, WV
The first time I met Tayler was at her cousin’s wedding two years ago – she was a bridesmaid and this very venue was in use for the first time that day.. Tayler and Nathan both cherish their families dearly so getting married at Tayler’s Aunt Stacey’s venue with so many of their loved ones in attendance was perfect! Stacey, by the way, has this great talent. She decorated and designed every detail – the florals, the arbor, the signage, all the place settings and tabletop decor and so much more. Her work is BEAUTIFUL!
The day started off in the Bride’s aunt’s home located on the property of Briar Patch Wedding Farm, where she and her bridesmaids got pampered and ready for the day. When you entered the house, the sweetest aroma of fresh flowers filled the air – this wonderful smell was so strong, we could smell it through our masks! We peaked around the corner into the kitchen where Tayler’s Aunt Stacey and her Mamaw were hard at work designing the table top florals and bridesmaid bouquets. We went upstairs to find Tayler sitting so relaxed as she awaited her hair to be finished. Later, I commented on how relaxed she was and she told me she felt like she was floating on this big cloud of happiness. This day was her dream come true and start to finish, she was so happy to be surrounded by so many loved ones as she prepared to marry her best friend.
When couples say their “I do’s”, I always get choked up. There is something so raw in this moment… the bride and groom are looking into each other’s eyes, promising that through a lifetime they will always love one another, fight for one another.. there is so much hope and faith and connection. And, this is usually when the bride or groom, sometimes both, gets a little choked up. This day is here and it is happening right now. It is such a surreal feeling. You don’t want it to end, but at the same time, you cannot wait to begin the rest of your lives – together.
This was one of our few weddings that didn’t get affected much by the crazy things 2020 has presented and I am so thankful. For the first time this year, we had at least one couple who was able to continue with their day without too many hiccups. The only thing that would have made this day even more perfect, was if their sweet pups, Millie and Tate were there! They did use the cutest cake topper that included a silhouette of their pups! And we found the perfect spot for their couple’s portraits – it gave my heart that Coastal South Carolina sunset glow that I have been craving! You’d never guess what was right behind the… I will post a brief snippet soon on instagram 🙂
Tayler & Nathan, thank you for trusting us to capture another Rowe family wedding! We feel so blessed to have been a part of so many of your family’s special memories. We wish you & your sweet fur babies a lifetime of love & puppy snuggles and cannot wait until we see you at Savannah & David’s wedding next summer! Tayler, we hope you have the best birthday in Columbus celebrating as the new Mrs. Peck! <3
