Did you know that 0 Tradd is one of the most photographed doors in Charleston!? I can absolutely see why! But, it isn’t the only great door and/or home on this street, so make sure to walk a little ways away from Rainbow Row down Tradd to take full advantage of this quieter area! It is filled with some of the most gorgeous bouts of light, colorful homes, gardens and more! Once you get your fill from Tradd, you can walk back over to East Bay to my next favorite iconic spot for the Charleston Bride to be.
My hubs and I tend to walk along the promenade when we are downtown on a date night. We love to look out over the water as the boats sail by -especially on hot, summer days! This location is so versatile, giving you waterfront backdrops, beautiful Charleston homes and so much more! For Photographers, it has beautiful bounce light from the light color sidewalk! We actually had our wedding portraits re-made here as well! I am slightly obsessed so they are the feature photo for this post. The wind can get a little crazy, but if you can bear it, it is a beautiful spot for portraits! *Because the wind can get a little intense, make sure you take your veil out or have it secured nice and tight!
Bonus: you are just across the way from White Point Garden – you can hop on over to get portraits under the Angel Oak canopies or utilize the beautiful Edwardian era gazebo!
Lastly, when I think of Charleston, I think of a couple details…Palm Trees, beautiful (and colorful) Architecture, perfect light & some of the best food known in the US! Which is what brings me to The Mills House. If you go to the Queen Street side, you get palmettos that frame every portrait perfectly, the tall, black doors are great for added dimension and I just love the white scrollwork above said door frames. When you end your photography session, you are right beside Poogan’s Porch where you can end the evening for a yummy lowcountry date night dinner. My belly starts grumbling as soon as my nose gets whiffs of all the things!
