Maternity Portraits in the French Quarter and Rainbow Row

Congratulations, McKenzie and Chris! This sweet couple is expecting their first baby girl and wanted to celebrate with a sweet maternity session in Charleston. We planned an early morning session to beat the heat around the French Quarter and Rainbow Row – and it turned out to be so beautiful! 

Downtown Charleston Maternity Portraits 

McKenzie and Chris planned a trip to Charleston to visit some friends, so we planned their session in the morning to beat the heat, but also so they could rest and enjoy the rest of the day with their friends! Before our session, McKenzie had her hair and makeup done by Lashes and Lace, one of my favorite Charleston beauty vendors. It was the perfect way to pamper the mommy-to-be before our session. She looked amazing! We started our session walking around the French Quarter. McKenzie wore a beautiful flowing white gown and it was just perfect to create some movement in their spring maternity portraits. 

After we were done exploring the French Quarter and all of its beautiful greenery and architecture, we headed to Rainbow Row. McKenzie changed into a sweet pink gown to honor their baby girl. She also brought along some baby shoes that her mom had made them. I loved seeing just how tiny those baby shoes are!! I was so happy to see so much pink in her outfit and we focused on a lot of the pink houses. Another client who loves pink!!! Baby Ellison Anne’s nursery has lots of pink and golds, so I love that McKenzie and Chris kept that in mind while they chose outfits and the locations for their photos. 

McKenzie and Chris actually welcomed Ellison Anne into the world on July 16th. I’m so happy for them and the new family of three!
